Worship and Praise

God is emotional about you.  Worship and Prayer helps you to understand how much he loves you.  When you get in the presence of the Lord, through Worship and Praise, confidence will come to you in prayer and your relationship with God.  It is good to enter the Lord's presence With Thanksgiving To Pray.

Psalm 95:2– Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms.

Psalm 100:4 – Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, into his courts with praise; be thankful unto Him and bless His name.

John 4:21-24 – True worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him – (4352 – Pro skuneo – To kiss, like a dog licking his master's hand/to fawn or crouch, prostrate oneself in homage, do reverence to, adore).

Psalm 112:1-7– Blessed is the man who fears the Lord.

Psalm 111:10– The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; 3374 – yirah (fear) means reverence.

Psalm 37:4 – Delight yourself also in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart.  The Lord wants to delight in you and you in Him for the sake of relationship and romance, not to get something.

Psalm 11:7 – Praise the Lord! (1984 – halal – foolish, to rave, to celebrate, make a show, boast).  I will Praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.  (3034 – yadah – hold out the hand to revere or worship, confess, praise, thank).

Giving Thanks To God

Daniel 6:10 – Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.

Jesus Gave Thanks

Matthew 11:25 – At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of Heaven and earth.  That you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes."

John 11:41 – Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying.  And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard me."

John 11:42 – And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me."
Prayer

Philippians 4:6-8 - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with Thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

Pray and Prayer - The Definitions According to Strong's Concordance

4335 - Prayer (worship).

Two Lessons From Luke 18 About Prayer:

Perseverance and Patience

1.  Verses 2-8 - Shows perseverance in prayer: even the unjust judge avenged the widow due to her perseverance.

Luke 18:7 - And shall not God avenge His own elect, who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?

Approach God the Father Based Upon What Jesus Did at the Cross

2. Verses 10-14 - Do not go before God to pray in your own righteousness, based upon your own works or weaknesses.  Never go before the Lord based upon what you have done, but only because of what Jesus has done.  Get your mind off yourself and onto Him and His promises.  Approach the Lord with a thankful heart, being thankful for what you already have, and your relationship with Him.

Regular Prayer is Important
Colossians 4:2 - Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.

Colossians 4:12 - Always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
Pray Regularly for Groups and Individuals

I Timothy 2:1-5 -  All men and those in authority.

Jeremiah 31-34:, Psalms 122:6-8 - Jewish people and Israel.

Persecuted Body of Christ, Body of Christ in Churches and Ministries, family and friends.

Philippians 2:11 - And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

John 14:12 - Most assuredly, I say unto you, He who believes in me, the works that I do will he do also; and greater works than these will he do because I go unto My Father.

John 14:13 - And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 14:14 - If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

John 15:14 - You are My friends, if you do whatever I command you.

John 15:16 - You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you ask the Father in My name, he may give you.

John 15:17 - These things I command you, that you love one another.

Matthew 4: - Jesus said to the devil, "It is written," and quoted scripture.  The Word of God is Holy.

Pray the Word of God in response to what has been accomplished at the Cross, and according to what the Word of God promises.  The Word of God applies to you in your life if you'll accept what God says.  Agree with what God's Word says in your life and act upon it.
