1. A New Age Pantheist declares that "all is God and God is all". Share with them that if God is all and we know that evil exists, then according to their worldview, then God must also be evil. Ask them if they are willing to accept the consequences of following their worldview to its logical conclusion. Most will not admit that they believe that God is evil.
If they say "no" I believe that evil is outside of God, then they have just violated the central tenant of the philosophy of Pantheism as God really is not all and something does exists outside of God. Some Pantheists may try to escape this problem by simply declaring that evil is not real but that it is only an illusion. At this point, get real practical and say, "Fine, then surely you wouldn't mind if someone were to steal your wallet and run up all your credit cards. After all evil is only an illusion". To deny the reality of evil is seriously out of touch with reality both theoretically and practically. The pantheist may begin to see how his worldview falls short.
2. New Age teaches that God is not a personal Being but rather is an impersonal "force". Yet many New Agers speak of God in warm glowing terms as being good and very loving. Ask them when was the last time they had a personal love relationship with the force of electricity. A force has no ability to love and have a relationship. Ask him: Doesn't it make more sense that God is a Personal God who can have intimacy with His creation. Scripture reveals that "God is Love".
3. New Agers often use Scripture to try to prove Pantheism. Verses such as Matthew 6:33, "Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you" are twisted to try to suggest that man should seek to realize his own inner divinity. They will tell you that you really are God, but that you just have not come to realize it yet.
Answer: The Scripture also reveals that God is immutable (unchanging) [ Malachi 3] as well as all-knowing(Col. 2:3) and all-powerful (Rev. 19:6).
Ask them: When did you come to enlightenment and realize that you are God? (Probably after they paid $500 for a New Age course or after a severe night of eastern meditation)
The very fact that you went through a process of change called enlightenment proves that you are not God. Because God cannot change. But you did change. Therefore, you are not God. God has always known that He is God. Another way that I've heard it said: God does not blossom; He is always in full bloom. God has always been God.
-Ask him if he has all-knowledge of every detail in the universe - God does!
-Ask him kindly if he would speak a new creation into existence - God can!
Remember, the purpose of sharing these ideas is not to win an argument and to prove them wrong. Our job is to share truth with them in love so as to lead them to eternal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Always share in love knowing that their eternal destiny is at stake.
